Suzy Hatten, PT, DPT

     Suzy's interest in physical therapy began at an early age when she observed physical therapists working with her grandmother, who had Parkinson's Disease as well as knee replacement surgeries.  

     She received her Bachelor of Science from Mississippi State University in 2003. Suzy worked throughout college as a physical therapy technician and taught anatomy and physiology labs for the university. She went on to Belmont University in Nashville, where she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2006.  Clinical rotations completed during her doctoral program included Vanderbilt Home Health, Easter Seals Pediatrics, Houston Methodist Hospital at Texas Medical Center, Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, and The Children’s Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham.

     For eight years, Suzy was employed by Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance, which allowed her to work closely with highly successful orthopaedic surgeons.  She spent time with Gentiva Home Health where she had specialized training in geriatrics, dementia, and vestibular disorders. Suzy also has had extensive post-doctoral education through  numerous organizations such as Parkinson's Wellness Recovery based in Tucson, AZ and orthopaedic/manual therapy through the University of St. Augustine in Florida.

     Suzy is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Tennessee Physical Therapy Association.  She volunteers as a foster mom for children, puppies, and kittens!  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, sailing, playing guitar, bridge, and tennis.
